Please join us in investing in four community solar installations!

The Letcher County Culture Hub has been working to bring solar energy opportunities to our community. Through our efforts, four community facilities are preparing to install over 150KW of solar by the end of 2019 - Appalshop and HOMES in Whitesburg, KY, the Hemphill Community Center in Hemphill, KY, and Kings Creek Volunteer Fire Department near Roxana, KY. This will stabilize our organization's energy costs against rising utility rates, help us to be more energy efficient, reduce our environmental impact, and support the growth of solar across our region.

Solar installations are investments that pay off over time, but require upfront financing costs. If we were private residents or for-profit organizations, we would be able to claim 30% of the cost of the solar installations as tax credits. As non-profits and public entities, we are asking for your support to raise our 30%
